Segmented Wood Sphere Spot Light
This segmented wood accent spot light has been turned on a wood lathe using yellow cedar and padouk hard wood. The 5″ diameter sphere is hollowed out and inside is a small LED light wired with a plug to an outlet on top of the island tower. A dimmer switch on the wall provides easy access to control that outlet. The result is a beautiful spot light for an otherwise dark countertop.
The two wood types used here are chosen to mimic wood used in vintage Lane furniture in the living room and follows the mid-century modern theme of the house. Not for sale.
